September trip to Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, Montana (more photos to come!)

Eastern Colorado Rockies from the South Approaching Great Sand Dunes NP Our destination is Star Dune, a couple km from here, 228m high from the valley floor, which is itself at elevation of 2300m Oops, storm is coming and we're up above with nothing to protect from the lightning! The sand carried by storm wind was hitting the face and all the equipment hard Finally, the summit! The wind is getting stronger every second, it is difficult even to stand still now Dune field seen from the above with a backdrop of Sangre de Cristo mountains. Many of the dunes are 200m+ high Time to run from the storm! Magical light appeared when sun got lower than the stormy clouds I-70 in the beginning of the Rockies follows ancient Indian path Destination: Peaks Peak Zig-zaggy road above that we will follow
